Welcome to my blog

Everything has a beginning. So begins my blog.  I'm not sure where to start, but here goes.

Food. Why food. It can nourish our body, our mind and our spirit. It is not always nutritious. Doesn't always satisfy. But we take it in on a daily basis if we are fortunate. I am one of the fortunate ones.

I usually eat some kind of meal at least two times a day. I'm not big on breakfast. I know, I know, breakfast is the best thing for your body. So if a smoothy counts; then I'm good. I get to eat 'good' food. Non-processed, fresh, not out-of-a-box food. I love to cook. I love it even more if I can cook for others.

It is in my nature to serve. So cooking and then serving it to others is very satisfying. I am able to serve those at my church as well as a catered event, with a heart of gratitude that I am doing what I was wired to do. The times I serve at home gives me the same satisfaction as when I am scooping up dinner at a shelter. I am a very, very fortunate woman. I get that. I know that. Not everyone gets to wake up each morning and smile because of what is ahead of them. I didn't say each day was a breeze. But I do wake each morning in great anticipation of what is next. Where will the Lord take me today. What will He teach me. Who will He put in my path. Sometimes I notice and other times I miss it. 

The computer is not a very good friend of mine so this blog will push me a bit. I will try to, at first, connect with you at least every other week. As I get more comfortable with it, my goal is each week on a Sunday evening. Maybe one day it will be daily. Wait! What? Daily? We will see as the days turn into weeks and then months, where this leads.

I hope to put recipes, tips, hints and other things I have learned throughout my 50+ years of cooking. I started as a young girl starting dinners for my family with my mom finishing it. So......
